2 weeks.
That is how long I have been offline from the internet world.
The computer was on.
I wrote software.
I replied company emails.
But I did not visit a single blog site, read news, Facebook or Message anyone.
Why?
Firstly I wanted to see if I could survive my "offline" journey.
Second I was "over" connected, as my sister puts it.
With my Galaxy S2 in my pocket, I was in every sense fully "plugged" into the internet.
And for the first time in my life, I felt suffocated from all the information flowing into my life.
It used to be me sitting in a train and reading a book.
But now it was reading real-time news and posting comments every second of the way.
So much so that I felt that I did not have enough time to do everything online anymore.
The fact that I was spending more time online than off says something about my perception of reality in the cyber world.
So I stopped.
I stop hooking myself up to the internet world for stuff that did not involve work.
And strangely I started to feel much better.
My health actually started to get back on track.
Less tired.
So why am I back on the blogs again?
Because the 2 weeks was an experiment.
A way to prove to me that I was over dependent on the connectivity into cyber reality.
I needed to step back and literally smell the roses.
Moderation is essential of all things in life.
Till I post again.
Note: The 2 postings that I did on Steve Jobs passing is not counted because it was meant to be a tribute to the man that changed the face of computing.
